Chapter I: The Inevitable Result

2010… now, you might have heard of the infamous Hadron Collider.  Well, a recent test was conducted on March 30; this was the start of the Hadron Collider Programme.  Everything seemed perfectly normal until a sudden jolt of energy sparked throughout the facility.  No one really knew what it was or what caused it, engineers checked for any abnormalities in and around the collider but none such were found.  Research moved on.

Suddenly, just west off the coast of Ireland, mass amounts of lightning started to gather in a small location.  The lightning sparks moved closer and closer together until… a blast of energy shook the skies.  No one saw it at first, but what exploded there to existence was a wormhole through time created by the collider.  The large energy amounts used and created by the collider created a sort-of time machine, but to what timeline and who in the past or future might have seen it?

1010… The Island of Berk… Hiccup is out after a long training session with his friends.  Still trying to get a grip from his new prosthetic leg, he rests for a few moments inside his dragon den with Toothless by his company.  Suddenly, a knock on the door was heard.

"Who is it?" Hiccup asked.  But, no one answered.  He asked again, "Hello? Anyone there?".  But, still, no answer.  He grabbed his axe and told Toothless to get ready just in case.  Hiccup's breathing gets intense as every inch he opens the door.  Then…

"YYYAAAHHHH!!!" Astrid screams as she barges in Hiccup's dragon den.  She stopped and started laughing.  Scared and surprised Hiccup asked, "Why would you do that?"

"Hey, better than getting punched on the shoulder, right?" She said with a wink in the eye.

"Um, I'd rather get punched, at least there's a kiss afterwards." He responded.

With a grin on her face she said, "Well, then… you asked for it."  And she punched Hiccup on the shoulders real hard.

"Hey! I didn't say now, I mean… c'mon ca-" Astrid interrupted him as she gave him the other one: a kiss on the lips.  They sat down, resting after a good laugh.

Silence filled the air, then the silence was broken when Hiccup asked, "So, are you free this afternoon?  For a… um… a…" His nervousness took over and he wasn't able to complete his question.

Suddenly, Astrid said, "A date?  Up in the sky?  Just before sunset?  I love to?"  As she completes his sentence, she gives him a kiss again to show her love to him.

Then, Toothless went near.  Hiccup was still in his private moment with Astrid when he opened his eyes and said, "What now Toothless?" Toothless looked at his stomach and started making 'I-am-hungry' gestures.

"Um, I'm kinda in the middle of a 'private' time here, buddy, so… later" Hiccup said; but Astrid looked and said, "Um, Hiccup, I think he's hungry."

"Ya, of course he's hungry, that's Toothless for ya".  He responds and says in a firm voice, "Toothless, you know that I can't feed you too much.  You need to have a balanced diet every day if you're gonna be successful in the Dragon Tournament next week.  Sorry, buddy, no extra fish today."  Then, Toothless looked at Hiccup in a very cute and playful manner with matching puppy-dog eyes, hoping his trainer would give in and show him the extra fish.  And it apparently worked.

"*sigh* The things I do for you. Closet, third from the right. Get whatever you want, just clean up any mess you did there, OK?" He said in a depressed manner.

"So, where were we?" Astrid said.  And both kissed again only to be interrupted by Snotlout.  Snotlout entered with the door open.

"Hey, guys, Gobber and his fellows are setting up another dragon exhibition at the ring. Wanna-"  He stopped as he saw both Astrid and Hiccup in their private moment.  He paused for a few seconds and cleared his throat to present his presence.

"Um…um… Snotlout, what are you doing here?"  Hiccup said, and then Astrid looked at Snotlout in a very unpleasant manner.

"Well, Gobber's setting up another dragon exhibition down at the ring.  You guys wanna come by?" Snotlout said in an excited tone.

Then Astrid stood up in a hastily manner and said, "What part of 'private moment' don't you understand?!?!"

Hiccup, with all the worries that Astrid might go ballistic again suggested to Snotlout, "Um… I'd leave if I were you.  You know Astrid when she's like that."  Snotlout agreed and quickly left.  Now, that her victim has left, her anger is still active and Hiccup knows that if she wasn't able to punch her primary target, she'd punch anyone nearby just to relieve the stress; and he's nearest to her now.

Astrid walks to Hiccup.  He gets tense and says, "Now, now, Astrid… please spare me for now…"  Astrid stops and looks at Hiccup very sinisterly.

"Toothless, a little help here buddy."  He calls for Toothless to get him out of the situation.  But apparently he's still eating fish.

"Oh great… ya, thanks for the help there pal.  Oh, man I'm so dead."  He then looks at Astrid and says, "Fine you know what… go just punch me already."  He says in a hastily manner as he closes his eyes and prepares for the impact.  Suddenly, it was clam in the room.  Astrid's face turned from the evil look to a sort-of romantic look as she stares at Hiccup.

Finally, she was able to control her anger and instead hugs Hiccup very tightly in replacement for the punch.  "Meet me at the place where I met Toothless for the first time."  She whispers on his ear afterwards and leaves the den.

"Woah, that was a close one." Hiccup said in relief.  Then, Toothless walks to him with an empty basket on the dragon's head.  "Ya had enough?" He said to Toothless.
