Dragons 2

2 min read
Ya'll know what time it is. Time for an old time favorite to once again amaze us. HTTYD2 (oh dang, it's been a while since I've used that abbreviation) is out and running on theatres across your country. For most of us, we all know the original Dragons became a sensation that lasted for months... no, years! On a personal tone, HTTYD1 introduced me into the world of fandoms when it was unveiled to the public years ago, where everyone contributed all forms of media in honor of of their beloved show, movie, or book series. Though nowadays I've moved on to a bigger fandom (i.e. Bronies), I can never forget the HTTYD franchise and the fanbase that grew along with it, and HTTYD2 somewhat rekindled my interest in making fan art for dragons once more.

Certain people have poked me from time to time, asking me about the long lost "Reykjavik" fanfic series I abruptly halted because of college studies. For those of you who aren't aware, the Reykjavik series is based off HTTYD. Not much of it has been revealed to the public to this day, other than it's supposed to follow the events after HTTYD and continue on for a few more in-series years. I'm still not gonna reveal the true script though, and I have to admit to this day I can't forget the original script I drafted for the story; it's still here in my head... waiting... I've only to find a good momentum to actually continue on now that I'm almost done-and-done with college.

Maybe one day HTTYD2 will fully inspire me once more and unleash what once disappeared.

Gotta be honest with ya, Asian servers are not always as fun as US/EU servers. Asian servers are often super quiet, super serious, no one chats on radio... and if someone did radio chat everyone else would be like "shut up, you newb! Turn off your mic." even if the person's mic had good quality. There are a FEW Asian servers where there are chats going on, but they're mostly just type chat and it's flat and not worth remembering. Oh and.... lost and LOTS of try-hards. Like, always pointing out the mistakes of everyone, blahblahblah.

US/EU servers, however, are quite the opposite. A lot are entertaining, super funny, loves to mic spam with random music, and they treat the game as... well... A GAME! Supposed to be lots of fun and excitement. There are a lot of try-hards as well in these servers, but at least there's the entertainment and that's alright for me.

I have to admit, I only use radio chat and type chat more often when I play on US/EU servers because I feel very connected with these guys (despite me being closest to Asian servers). I only join Asian servers for the lag-less gameplay I have, but when I find the lack of entertainment too much to bare, I join a far-away server and wouldn't care at all about the lag. Just keep me smilin' baby, that's all I need!

I'm seeing a trend when it comes to the latest home consoles in our lineup. It's just a personal opinion, but I'm also basing this after going over and over with the reviews, the specs, and the personal opinions of testers and users.

XBOX ONE - Strength comes in terms of its ability to multitask a lot of multimedia-heavy applications. Gaming is still pretty sexy with this machine, but this is becoming more of what a 21st century home appliance should be; everything is there from being a cable box to gaming console, a home theater player and even an extension of your PC. An all-in-one package.

PLAYSTATION 4 - A pretty piece of hardware, with a straightforward approach. The PS4 is a 100% gaming machine. There's multimedia features, but not as much as the Xbox One. So if you're that hardcore console gaming fanboy/girl, then this machine is the one for you. Sexy graphics, sexy hardware; the new controller design helps it be the top gaming console as well.

NINTENDO WII U - Similar to the PS4, being a game-focused machine, this one takes a softer approach. It's more family-oriented and has multimedia features that are a great improvement than the previous Wii. Plus, the new controller (not the one with the screen, I'm talking about the Xbox360 controller lookalike) feels and looks great. If casual gaming is for you, with some home theater features here and there, and not to mention the price is affordable nowadays, then the Wii U is for you.

What's your opinion?

SIDE NOTE:
Also, for those of you who play (or are planning to buy and play) Disney Infinity (LIKE ME), there's a report that the game's developer is planning on either redesigning the Infinity to match the graphics of next-gen games for the PS4 and XB1, or overhaul the entire thing and create a sequel that will have new sexier looks blahblahblah. An official date is yet to be announced for both its development and release.

I'm not inclined to buy either these at the moment. Except for the Wii U, the PS4 and Xbox1 are too early for me to buy at the moment. Limited games to choose from, many hardware/software issues still plague, and not a lot of benchmarks to make comparisons right now. Besides, I don't have enough cash yet. So patience will once again be the only choice.

But, being a person who's love for consoles all began with the PS1, and pretty much went my way up with Sony on the PS2 and 3, I'm pretty sure I'll end up with the PS4 just for the sake of completing my collection of Sony consoles. Xbox One? Hmm... no comment yet. Wii U? I'm also thinking of it.
