I'm seeing a trend when it comes to the latest home consoles in our lineup. It's just a personal opinion, but I'm also basing this after going over and over with the reviews, the specs, and the personal opinions of testers and users.

XBOX ONE - Strength comes in terms of its ability to multitask a lot of multimedia-heavy applications. Gaming is still pretty sexy with this machine, but this is becoming more of what a 21st century home appliance should be; everything is there from being a cable box to gaming console, a home theater player and even an extension of your PC. An all-in-one package.

PLAYSTATION 4 - A pretty piece of hardware, with a straightforward approach. The PS4 is a 100% gaming machine. There's multimedia features, but not as much as the Xbox One. So if you're that hardcore console gaming fanboy/girl, then this machine is the one for you. Sexy graphics, sexy hardware; the new controller design helps it be the top gaming console as well.

NINTENDO WII U - Similar to the PS4, being a game-focused machine, this one takes a softer approach. It's more family-oriented and has multimedia features that are a great improvement than the previous Wii. Plus, the new controller (not the one with the screen, I'm talking about the Xbox360 controller lookalike) feels and looks great. If casual gaming is for you, with some home theater features here and there, and not to mention the price is affordable nowadays, then the Wii U is for you.

What's your opinion?

SIDE NOTE:
Also, for those of you who play (or are planning to buy and play) Disney Infinity (LIKE ME), there's a report that the game's developer is planning on either redesigning the Infinity to match the graphics of next-gen games for the PS4 and XB1, or overhaul the entire thing and create a sequel that will have new sexier looks blahblahblah. An official date is yet to be announced for both its development and release.
